Slow Cooker Recipes

The favorite of all of the meals was the Cafe Rio Chicken.  You’ve probably had this at the restaurant that loves to host my girls-lunches-out but it’s better at home because it’s a whole lot less than $8.49 per meal AND you can keep your pajama pants on, right where they belong.  Just sayin’

They all have :

  1. Chicken

Copycat Cafe Rio Chicken also needs:

  1. Italian Dressing
  2. Ranch dressing mix
  3. Ground Cumin
  4. Chili Powder
  5. Garlic
  6. Water

For the BBQ chicken you’ll need:

  1. BBQ sauce
  2. Brown sugar
  3. Vinegar
  4. Cayenne
  5. Garlic powder

Teriyaki Chicken uses the following ingredients:

  1. Teriyaki Sauce
  2. Ginger (I just used powdered)
  3. Garlic
  4. Brown Sugar

Another favorite is Creamy Crock pot chicken, for that you’ll need:

  1. Butter
  2. Italian Dressing Mix
  3. Cream cheese
  4. Cream of chicken soup (undiluted)

So you can see that most of what you’ll need is sitting their in your pantry or fridge longing for you to notice it’s there and use it in a meal.  Each of these meals will feed 4-6 hearty eaters, if you have small children you can use them as leftovers or package them in smaller quantities to get even more mileage from them.

We got Zaycon chicken last fall and dont plan on buying any more til probably again this next fall but that is such a great idea to make freezer meals with that chicken. Thanks for sharing! Hi Stacie,
Thanks for stopping by. I learned so much at that conference, almost too much 🙂 So what did you do with your 40# of chicken when you got it?

  2. oh PS my go to dinner when time is short..um..out to eat? lol. My husband makes dinners and I do dishes. He has class late on Wed nights so I really should start thinking about having something ready for when he comes home that is better than a bowl of cereal.

Would your husband be willing to teach a class? 😉 ( on the dinner and dishes thing, I mean )

What do you think?
