Why I Blog?

After reading my About Me page, you might be wondering why I would take the time to blog about preparedness.  I am a busy gal, I do lots of things and prepping is only one of those things.

It’s simple really.  It’s a way for me to do a brain-dump of sorts, and put all the info and experience that I’ve accumulated over the years into a place that others can get to and use for themselves. I spin a lot of plates in my regular life and these plates take different positions on my priority scale at different times.

When circumstances get weird because of natural disaster, power outage, job loss, medical emergencies etc, the PREPAREDNESS plate jumps up in the rankings.  It permeates and weaves throughout all the other  aspects of life and makes it so that the craziness of ‘weird things’  is easier to bounce back from.

Preparedness is such a broad topic that many are paralyzed by the sheer enormity of it.  Hopefully I can break it down into manageable chunks that won’t cause you too much stress or fleeing to Facebook or pinterest…that’s what I do when I get overwhelmed online, shh don’t tell.

Being a woman, my brain is multi-compartmental (is that a word?), what I mean is; there is a lot going on in there.  Perhaps if I deposit it here, it will come out in some semblance of order that will help you to help your family get more ready for whatever comes your way.

You are here because you want to know more about some aspect of helping your family become more ready for life’s ‘unexpected weirdness’ that seems to be popping up with ever-increasing frequency and severity  lately.  I hope you find some peace and “A-ha!”, “Why didn’t I think of that” moments during your stay here.

I also hope that when you have those moments that they aren’t just filed away into the ‘I’ll get to that later” file.  You know the one, the file of good intentions?  When something I write strikes you or resonates with you in some way Please put it on your TO DO short list and get on that right away.  You can save all the 2 liter bottles you want but if they aren’t cleaned out and filled with water, they will do nothing to quench the thirst of your 4-year-old child when there’s nothing coming out of your faucet.

I know that you are busy too and you won’t be waiting around for my next earth shattering, why didn’t I think of that ? post, so if you don’t want to miss anything , go ahead and subscribe by email and get all the latest ‘weirdness neutralizing’ help,  info, encouragement, or commiseration from me.

Welcome to my little place on the web, if you’re ready to jump in, you can Start Here or check out the Archives Page (when I get it up:). Enjoy your stay.
